International Students

Important information for international students
  • Financial resources for international students are limited.  International applicants requesting need-based financial aid should complete and submit the information below by the stated deadlines.
  • International applicants admitted with "no financial aid interest" are ineligible to apply for financial aid for any year of undergraduate study.
  • There are no need-based or merit scholarships available for international transfer students.
  • More detailed information for international applicants can be found on the Admissions website.
  • All enrolled international students must attend a mandatory session each year to complete required forms for visa services, payroll, and international house.

Four-year Award Policy for International Students

We would like to draw your attention to our new 4-year award policy for international students.  If you choose to attend Duke, your parent and student contributions will be exactly the same each year for the next four years.  The cost of attendance will increase from year to year, but what we expect you to contribute will be the same as it is this year. This means that your aid from Duke will increase to cover any increase in the anticipated cost of education, but your parent and student contributions will not change.

This also means that you do not have to submit any financial information to us again after this year.  We hope that this will make the process much simpler and help you plan your finances accordingly.  Each year you will automatically receive a new award letter from us outlining the anticipated cost of attendance, your parent and student contribution figures, and the financial aid from Duke.
