Hiring Procedures for Student Employment at DukeInstructions for Off-Campus EmployersIn order to take advantage of either the Federal or Duke Work Study programs at Duke, off-campus employers must sign an off-campus agreement with the Duke Student Employment Office. The off-campus employer must be a non-profit organization, and must qualify as an appropriate employer for Duke students. Eligibility will be determined by the Student Employment Office. If the student has Federal Work-Study...If a student has Federal Work Study eligibility and an off-campus agreement has been signed, the employer should submit a Reimbursement Voucher on a monthly basis, along with documentation that the student has been paid 100% of his or her earnings. The Student Employment Office will then process the paperwork to reimburse the employer for 75% of the student’s earnings, up to 75% of the student’s work study eligibility for the time period. All student earnings that exceed the student’s eligibility as indicated on the most recent work-study verification form must be paid 100% by the employer. If the student has Duke Work-Study...If a student has Duke Work Study eligibility and an off-campus agreement has been signed, the employer should submit a Reimbursement Voucher, along with documentation that the student has been paid 100% of his or her earnings. The Student Employment Office will then process the paperwork to reimburse the employer for 50% of the student’s earnings, up to 50% of the student’s work study eligibility for the time period. All student earnings that exceed the student’s eligibility as indicated on the most recent work-study verification form must be paid 100% by the employer. |
