Alternative Student Employment OptionsNon-Work-Study Employment OptionsMany jobs, including summer positions, are available to Duke students who do not qualify for work-study. To find these jobs, search Duke E-Recruiting for "work-study not required" positions. Summer Work-Study OptionsThose students who are eligible for financial aid and are enrolled in Summer Session One or Two, may receive work-study as part of their summer financial aid package. For those students not enrolled in summer classes, federal work-study is available to students who are eligible for need-based financial aid during the academic year that corresponds with the summer term (Summer Session One corresponds with the prior academic year, and Summer Session Two corresponds with the following academic year). Please complete a Summer Non-Enrolled Federal Work Study Application to apply. This form should be submitted before Spring classes end, if applying for Summer Session One, and before the end of Summer Session One if applying for Summer Session Two. Off-Campus Work-Study Employment OptionsStudents with Federal Work-Study eligibility may choose to participate in America Reads or America Counts, which offer classroom tutoring opportunities. Other students may work at non-profit community agencies, reaching beyond the campus community to make a difference in the Durham community. More information about working with community service agencies is available from the Duke Community Service Center. |
