Federal Stafford Loan - How To Apply

First-time Borrowers

1. Complete Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
2. Accept the loan online at ACES
3. Choose a Stafford Loan Lender 
4. Complete Stafford/Perkins Entrance Counseling
5. Complete the Federal Stafford Loan Master Promissory Note online at Lender’s website

Repeat Borrowers

1. Complete Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
2. Accept the loan online at ACES

* The Stafford Loan will not disburse to the student's bursar account until 10 days prior to the start of classes each semester.  For loans processed during the academic year, please allow at least 10 business days to disburse (provided all steps have been completed).
