Federal Perkins Loan - How to Apply

First-time Borrowers
  1. Complete Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  2. Accept the loan online at ACES
  3. Complete Stafford/Perkins Entrance Counseling
  4. Complete and return the Perkins Loan Master Promissory note and Truth-in-Lending Disclosure Statement that will be mailed to you from the Student Loan Office.


Repeat Borrowers

  1. Complete Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  2. Accept the loan online at ACES
  3. Complete and return the Perkins Loan Master Promissory note and Truth-in-Lending Disclosure Statement that will be mailed to you from the Student Loan Office.

* Note: The Perkins Loan will not disburse to the student's bursar account until 10 days prior to the start of classes each semester.  For loans processed during the academic year, please allow at least 10 business days to disburse (provided all steps have been completed).
